Harrie Samaras Nominated as Budget Officer of ABA Dispute Resolution Section

West Chester, Pa. – Harrie Samaras has been nominated to serve as the Budget Officer of the American Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution (“DR”) Section.

On July 2, 2015, the Nominations Committee of the DR Section announced the nominees for the Section’s Officer and Council Positions. The Nominees will be voted on by the Section Membership at the ABA’s Annual Meeting on August 1, 2015, in Chicago.

The duties of the Budget Officer include: monitoring all accounts, reports, and other documents prepared regarding Section funds, revenues, and expenditures; ensuring that all such accounts, reports, and other documents are at all times accurate and correct; reporting on the Section’s present and projected financial condition at Section Council meetings; advising the officers and Council about the financial impact of any proposed action by the officers, Council or Section which would have a significant impact on the financial condition of the Section; and preparing and submitting a projected budget to Council for approval or modification.

The term of the Budget Officer is one year.
